Monday Moments (4)

Monday Moments is a meme dedicated to my favorite Running Man couple, Kang Gary and Song Jihyo. It’s where I pick out any Monday Couple moment from any episode of the show or even from events outside RM that made me laugh, warmed my heart, and gave me the good “dugeun, dugeun” goosebumps. (Note: Monday is usually the day when Running Man films its episodes so when these two were teased as a couple, they were dubbed as the ‘Monday Couple’.)

Episode 46: Monday Couple Hug to win couple rings 🙂

 

The mission was to find the real-life office couples but the extra couple ring prize prompts the members to let Gary and Jihyo try out too.

 

These are the expressions on the faces of our Monday Couple. I really, really loved their reactions. Jihyo could barely contain her smile. Actually it was more than a smile. It was a very wide grin. And Gary, (heheh) he just seems to be a bit conflicted, which was adorable. He kind of looked like he didn’t want to try it and was maybe having an internal dialogue about how the other RM members were such a tease but at the same time, he did want to try it because of course, it’s Jihyo. 🙂

 

 

 

Gary opens his arms wide and calls ‘Honey’. And Jihyo? She just breaks into her wide grin again.

 

 

Gary waits for Jihyo, his eyes are closed. And Jihyo just continues to laugh. (Heheh).

 

Gary says to hurry and that was enough (heheh) for Jihyo to walk towards Gary. And then they hugged!!! ❤

 

For so briefly. But the important thing was that they hugged. 🙂

And they get their couple ring prize, to the vehement objections of the blue team, who had just been wind blasted through their microphones.

 

 

What did you guys think about this Monday Moment? 

Beyond the hug, I just really, really enjoyed seeing those expressions on their faces. All smiles, a bit of the romantic goosebumps, but fun just the same.

Episode 175: Crimes of Love

Our RM members are put into jail one by one with the Cho-PD announcing their crimes. Gary is jailed because of his ‘love-sickness’. Lol.

 

 

Jihyo on the other hand is jailed because of her ‘beauty crime’.

 

This was met by the strong protests of the other members.

 

That is, except Gary, of course. Gary says it is a crime because she stole his heart. *Sigh*

 

There’s this last shot of this Monday Moment when the camera is focused on Jihyo being shy and I noticed that Gary was a little bit in her frame. *Cute*

 

 

What did you guys think about this Monday Moment? 

I love it when all the members go against Jihyo but then it’s just Gary who stays with her or who defends her, in a way. Monday Couple Jjang!

Episode 130: Gary: “Jihyo, It’s not time yet.”

 

This is the fun bit in the Reincarnation episode when the RM members were still ‘in 1938’ at the then Seoul City Hall. The members were given different locations in the building where they can find a key. Gary has found his and then runs into Jihyo in the hallway.

 

 

 

 

Jihyo asks him if he’s found his and in Gary’s true fashion, he lies but in his very obvious ‘I-can’t-lie-for-the-life-of-me’ way, which Jihyo could see right through.

 

 

 

 

Jihyo was about to let it go when Gary drops his key on the floor and didn’t even know it. It was a good thing Jihyo was kind enough to let him know. 

 

 

When it seems like Jihyo won’t give him back his key, Gary goes into this semi-panic mode, jumping up and down in anxiety, which draws laughter not only from Jihyo but from viewers as well. He kept saying, “Jihyo, it’s not that time yet.” LoL.

 

 

 

In the end, Jihyo gives him another chance and returns his key. And Gary vows that he will help her until the end. How did that go down? Well, let’s just say that Gary has learned a few lessons in winning an individual game. 

 

What did you guys think about this Monday Moment? 

I always enjoy seeing Jihyo laugh so hard because of Gary. I think she really finds him very, very funny, which makes them so adorable. When I went to South Korea in early October this year, I was able to go the Seoul Metropolitan Library, which was the old Seoul City Hall and where they shot this episode. It was a very nice experience for me as a Running Man fan that I got to visit places where the members had been. 🙂
